Mr.Z didn't come but the class still went on as usual. We had to present our presentation about phishing, virus(Trojan horse and Salami attack), hacking and security measures (biometric devices and authentication). Phishing - a way of attempting to acquire information such as usernames, passwords and credit cards details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Virus: (i)Trojan horse - a malicious program that does not attempt to infect file but can make copies of themselves. , steal information or harm their host computer systems. (ii)Salami attack - a programmed attack which is implemented in small (unnoticeable) increments. Hacking - is a person (hacker) with advanced knowledge of operating systems and programming language. They might find discover holes with the systems and freely share the information they've discovered but never intentionally damaged data. Security measures: (i)biometrics devices - a form of identification and access control. It is also used to identify individuals in groups that are under surveillance. (ii)authentication - is a process of determining whether someone or something is, in fact, who or what they declare to be.
