Did abit of housekeeping first before continuing our lesson on computer system. Today we learn the binary code that has only two digits : 0 or 1. A bit is represented by the number 0 and 1.
We also learn data measurement. For example 1KB=2 power 10 bytes, and few more others. As for speed measurement, are like Hertz (Hz), MegaHertz (MHz), and GigaHertz (GHz).
The system clock is one of the major factor that influenced the computer speed and only affects the CPU only. Example of a microprocessor speed, Pentium 4 running at 2.4 GHz which is faster and Pentium 4 running at 1.8 GHz which is slower.
Speed and path determines the total processing speed.

Session 15
We started learning area 02 which is the computer system. Computer system is a combination of components designed to process data and store files. There are 4 major hardware components:-
i) Input - data and instruction that we enter into the computer system for processing. Example of input device: keyboard, mouse, etc
ii) Output - data that has been processed into a useful form. For example, printer, speaker, etc
iii) Processor - is like the human brain. Example: CPU
iv) Storage - location of data, instruction and information that are held for future use. There are two types of storage. One is the primary and the other is secondary. The primary storage only holds data temporarily like the RAM. As for the secondary storage is considered permanent until data is deleted or removed. For example, thumbdrive, CD, DVD, etc

Session 14
Started the class with a bit of housekeeping like finalizing the marks. Mr.Z said that we have to do module 1 and print it out as a hard-copy during the holidays. After that, he also talk about the project ColMas which we will have to post 20 different pictures of the school. At the last 20 minutes or so, we had another test about ICT.

Session 13
Mr.Z didn't come but the class still went on as usual. We had to present our presentation about phishing, virus(Trojan horse and Salami attack), hacking and security measures (biometric devices and authentication).
Phishing - a way of attempting to acquire information such as usernames, passwords and credit cards details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.
Virus: (i)Trojan horse - a malicious program that does not attempt to infect file but can make copies of themselves. , steal information or harm their host computer systems.
(ii)Salami attack - a programmed attack which is implemented in small (unnoticeable) increments.
Hacking - is a person (hacker) with advanced knowledge of operating systems and programming language. They might find discover holes with the systems and freely share the information they've discovered but never intentionally damaged data.
Security measures: (i)biometrics devices - a form of identification and access control. It is also used to identify individuals in groups that are under surveillance.
(ii)authentication - is a process of determining whether someone or something is, in fact, who or what they declare to be.

Session 12
We had a video conferencing with Ms Lucia Matei. One of the few students who got to speak to her was Felicia and Thamilarasi. When we had the video conferencing, it was 5 in the morning at her country. She expertise in psychology.It was nice to chat to her through Skype.
