Session 31
Protocol is a set of language that computer understands.
Types of communication:
i) internet - a global network that provides various types of information and communication facilities.
a computer network that uses Internet Protocol technology to share information, operational systems, or computing services within an organization
iii) extranet - a computer network that allows controlled access from the outside, for specific business or educational purposes
Example of communication devices:
i) network interface card (NIC)
ii) wireless network card
iii) hub or switch
iv) router
v) wireless access point
vi) internal and external modem

Session 29
Did a little houskeeping. Gotten our mid-year examination results.
Types of Network:-
(i) Local Area Network (LAN) - covers a small region
(ii) Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) - same geographical area
(iii) Wide Area Network (WAN) - large geographical area
We also learn the differences between the types of network.

Session 28
In today's class, we begin a new topic which is about networking.
Networking is connecting two computers to share a hardware.
Communication - when sharing information or devices from a distance. When there's a sender, there's a receiver.
Connections For Networking: (i) phsycal medium (ii) protocols (iii) system application
Channels: (i) twisted-pair (ii) coaxial (iii) fiber-optic (iv) satelite
